By using the right hashtags in your posts, you’re able to reach new people who are searching for those terms. This will help them find your content and follow you! Not to mention, posts with at least one hashtag average 12% more engagement than posts without hashtags.
To get started, try out some hashtag generators like HashtagsForLikes or TagBlender. These tools will give you suggestions based on the keywords that you enter. You can also use Instagram itself to find relevant tags by searching for specific terms in the search bar and looking at what other users have posted with those hashtags.
Add Your Location
Another great way to grow your account is by adding a location to your posts. Instagram uses geotagging to help people discover content that is relevant to them. If you are posting from a specific place, it will only show up in searches for that location or similar locations nearby.
For example, if Vibrant Marketing is at an event and we want more people there to see our post then we’ll make sure the location is added so other Instagrammers at the event can find it! If you have a storefront or restaurant, then tagging its location will also help with people who are nearby looking for new places to visit.
You can add your location by tapping on “Add Location” while creating or editing posts and selecting one from the list of suggested locations that appear. If you don’t see your location, then tap “Search” and type in the address or name of where you’re posting from.
Optimize Your Instagram Posting Schedule
The best way to get more followers on Instagram is by posting frequently and consistently. If you’re not sure how often you should post, then start with three posts a week at a minimum. You can also experiment with different times of day as well as what types of content does best for your audience (e.g., videos vs photos, tips vs personal stories).
One strategy for optimizing your posting schedule is to make sure you’re posting when people are most likely engaging with content on Instagram. This can vary depending on what industry your business is in and its target audience. Check out your insights to find out when you’re audience is most likely to engage. For example, on the Vibrant Marketing Instagram, we’ve found that each data varies, but typically our best times to post are either 10 am or 6 pm.
According to Sprout Social’s data report (2018), in general, the best time of day for posts tends to be between 11 am – 12 pm EST (or late morning).
Actively Engage With Your Audience
One of the best ways to create engagement is by actively engaging with your audience. Replying to comments and questions, and even taking the time to like and comment on other users’ posts. This will show that you’re engaged with your followers and that you care about what they have to say.
Posts with at least one comment receive up to 30% more engagement than those without any comments. For example, if someone asks for advice about a certain topic related to your business then reply back offering suggestions or even just thanking them!
Use Trending Music on Instagram Stories
Instagram stories are a great way to create engaging content. At Vibrant Marketing, we’ve found that you can use music from the in-app library that’s designed for businesses like yours by selecting it when adding an image or video to your story and then tapping “Music.” Songs will appear as little dots underneath where you’ve added them so people know what song is playing.
